Hi – Malcolm Keith here!

Thanks for coming to see who is behind this blog. It’s just my means of letting people know who I am and what I do on line – and hopefully I can find information and tools that I can put here to help others.

I have other sites that generate passive incomes with little maintenance, mostly from niche content adsense and affiliate marketing sales, and also I have my own information products that I sell online. Plus as you can see – I have an interest in mainstream opportunities.

It is my intention that this blog and my MalcolmKeith blog will facilitate our getting to know each other and will provide value to you for use in improving your business efforts on line.

I guess I first got the taste for internet marketing about 13 years ago, round about 1998. Seems so long ago now.

I had spent my early working years in the Royal Air Force as an Air Communications Engineer and after 12 years I left and joined a company developing cutting edge electronics in laser based imaging and satellite communications for the print industry. I enjoyed 17 good, progressive years there before redundancy came when the Japanese built a  ‘better mousetrap’ so to speak! I then moved to an energy measurement solutions company which eventually was too successful and became the subject of one take over after another – none of which did it any good! After one takeover – the politics and the back stabbing just became too much to put up with – and co-incidental with my wife developing cancer and her long fight back to health – I quit working for ‘ the Boss’.

So back to 1998. I can’t even remember the program now – the emails are long lost, but I believe it was from New Zealand and massive at the time – taking more bandwidth than the country telecommunications industry. I put a lot of money into it before it crashed and the owner either disappeared or was apprehended by the police!

Further similar disasters occurred with programs that were not thought through properly (by me as well as the owner). So I was attracted to an offline business – thinking I could use online marketing to promote it.

What a money pit this turned out to be!

I had joined Herbalife (when Mark Hughes was still alive). Enticed in by responding online or in a mag – I can’t remember – there followed the usual ra-ra conferences and stage promotions of people climbing through the ranks – I even went to Amsterdam for a European Extravaganza. My upline gave up their day jobs to do the business.

I bought the Supervisor package at $3000.00

I sold 3 or 4 packages each month, but due to shipping costs, my profit margin was extremely small. I’m not sure how Herbalife does it today, but back then, I had a living room full of their products and a closet full of shipping envelopes and boxes.

I bought the leads, did all the fly posting, leaflet dropping, business cards, phoning, three way calls, promo mail outs  of  kits and some promotional audio and video cassettes. (It was turn of the millennium!)

I made World Team.

I paid to have the upline leader’s E-Commerce Business Package.

I was pretty well BROKE and paying off the credit card from very little profits or a sustainable downline.

I gave up, drove down to the main depot and returned the products at a loss and canceled my business to reduce my debts.

So what went wrong?
The products worked well – I got 60lbs weight loss off my boss on the products.

It was ME.

I was plain bad at prospecting.
Bad at selling.
Bad at closing sales.
Bad at just about everything that I needed to be good at in order to succeed with the business.
I hated the cold-calling phone calls.
I hated the rejection and took it a bit personal.

But I did get one thing from it – I needed to work on my personal development.

Jim Rohn (an American entrepreneur, author and motivational speaker) has said,
“You must work harder on yourself than you do on your job.”
“Your income follows your personal growth.”

It’s funny, because I taught  martial arts groups of 20 people and sometimes at big seminars, 3 or 400 people. So I thought I was OK at communicating something I was genuinely passionate about – but I guess it was with already like-minded people.

Back online, I started up with various businesses which one after the other, disappointed me by not performing or taking my money and doing a runner.

One of them was working a treat and when the main man came over from the USA and we all met up in a hotel, he was a genuinely nice guy with visions of a great way forward. However, the business plan was not sustainable and no one was more upset then him when the business imploded and took his and everyone else’s money down the drain.

I wasn’t giving up on this – I knew it was possible to replace my income from work and give myself freedom to make my own decisions on life direction.

So I started taking courses to improve me – and to further my understanding of network marketing.

I’ve linked in to one or two successful people who can point the way to a series of steps and expectations – along with the training, and the knowledge that is is no easy way or overnight riches.

I’ve chosen an older, stable business to promote, a mid aged business, plus some newcomers that look good.

This is always an ongoing learning experience.

If you use the right marketing techniques, you can build a huge downline with almost any network marketing company. To do this, however, you’ve got to get your business in front of as many qualified people as possible.

There are no ‘get rich’ schemes here – you will need to invest your time, at least 3.0 hours/day part time on average (minimum) for ONE project – and a little bit of money – and be able to follow instructions!

What ever it is you want to do on line – if you want it to pay you better than average – YOU will need to put the hard work in.

Thousands of average people just like you are earning money from home who never thought they could. Truly anyone with a desire to earn extra cash or earn their fortune can get started very easily and without a huge cost or big monthly fees.

Good Luck!

Malcolm
